Weingut Dorli Muhr

Weingut Dorli Muhr is an acclaimed Austrian winery founded by Dorli Muhr, the winery is known for its dedication to producing high-quality, elegant wines, particularly from the Blaufränkisch grape variety. Established in 2002 in partnership with leading Portuguese winemaker Dirk Niepoort, Dorli Muhr focuses on sustainable and organic viticulture, with a strong emphasis on expressing the terroir of the Spitzerberg mountain, where many of the vineyards are located in the Carnuntum wine region, east of Vienna. In 2015, Muhr converted the estate to fully organic viticulture and appointed Lukas Brandstatter as winemaker. Then she became the sole owner of the estate in 2019 and Ried Spitzerberg was finally recognised as an Erste Lage – one of Austria prime vineyards. The winery’s philosophy is centred around minimal intervention, allowing the natural characteristics of the soil and climate to come through in the wines. The Blaufränkisch from Weingut Dorli Muhr is highly regarded for its complexity, minerality, and ageing potential, often showing notes of dark berries, spice, and vibrant acidity. In addition to Blaufränkisch, Weingut Dorli Muhr also produces a range of other red and white wines, all crafted with the same attention to detail and commitment to expressing the region's unique characteristics. The winery has gained international recognition for its refined and balanced wines, with a focus on elegance and longevity.
