Tullamore D.E.W. Whiskey

Tullamore D.E.W. comes from Tullamore in County Offaly, Ireland. It started in 1829. The brand is named after Daniel E. Williams, a former general manager. His initials ‘D.E.W.’ are part of the brand name.

The whiskey is triple-distilled. This is common for many Irish whiskeys. It makes Tullamore D.E.W. smooth and easy to drink. The brand uses a triple blend of pot still, malt, and grain whiskeys. This mix gives a rich flavour. It has a balance of sweet and spicy notes with a smooth finish.

There are several expressions in the range, each with its own flavour. The Original Tullamore D.E.W. blends all three Irish whiskey types. It ages in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. This gives a smooth flavour with vanilla and spice hints. Other types include the 12-Year-Old Special Reserve and the 14 and 18-Year-Old Single Malts. These offer richer and more complex flavours.

In 2014, Tullamore opened a new distillery. This brought whiskey production back to the town after many years. The facility is modern. It uses the latest technology but keeps traditional Irish whiskey methods.

Tullamore D.E.W. is known for its packaging. It features a Celtic design that shows its Irish roots. The brand's visitor centre in Tullamore offers tours and tastings. Visitors can learn about the brand's history and how they make whiskey.
