The Severed Hand Rum
The Severed Hand rum collection is produced by the folks at Black Powder Gin and takes inspiration from a rather gory discovery made on the family’s historic land back in the 1800s! We won’t lie, the fancy label does make it look like there is an actual skeleton hand resting inside the bottle, and somehow this took our brains straight to pirates – but we were wrong. In fact, the story goes that some workmen were busy unloading sacks of manure for the garden, guano to be specific, which had been shipped in from Peru, arriving in Liverpool. You guessed it, as they were unloading, a perfectly preserved severed human hand fell from one of the sacks. The origin of the hand was never discovered – could it have been a poor worker in Peru, or some Liverpudlian dockside gangsters? Certainly a good story to base a rum brand on though!
