Surface:Depth whisky is a special 12-year-old Speyside single malt. It shows the strong impact of wood in its maturation. This whisky does not use caramel and avoids chill filtration. This keeps its natural qualities. The maturation in small octave casks increases the wood's influence on the whisky. This is due to more surface area.

As the whisky ages, it soaks up sherry remains from the cask. This gives it a rich flavour. It tastes of festive spices, toffee, and chocolate malt.

The aroma of Surface:Depth includes stewed apples, hay, dark chocolate, and sharp cinnamon spice. This leads to notes of honeycomb, vanilla fudge, spicy barley, and a hint of fennel. The taste has chocolatey malt, vanilla, toasted oak spice, and toffee. It also includes butterscotch, clove, and nutmeg. The finish is a mix of sweet maple and blueberry. It also has deep oak, cinnamon, honeyed barley, and a touch of pepper.
