Rodionov & Sons is bringing back Polugar, the traditional Russian spirit that predates vodka. Once a staple in Russian households, Polugar was loved for its rich flavour and aroma, unlike the neutral character of modern vodka. Boris Rodionov, the distillery's founder, has revived this nearly lost art by using old recipes and breadwine distillation techniques. Made with wheat, rye, and barley, the grains are naturally fermented before being distilled in copper pot stills. The result? A spirit that’s robust, aromatic, and full of character—a true taste of Russian history. Rodionov & Sons’ Polugar now shares this revived tradition with the world.
