Oddbird was started in 2013 by Moa Gürbüzer, a former family therapist and social worker. Moa set up Oddbird to change drinking norms. She wanted to make alcohol-free drinks as common as choosing milk in coffee.
Oddbird is now the largest producer of non-alcoholic wine, beer, and spirits in Scandinavia. They make quality wines using traditional methods. They age the wines for up to a year. Then, they remove the alcohol but keep the natural flavours.
Making non-alcoholic wines that taste good and are complex is hard. It combines tradition and new ideas. From selecting grapes to fermentation and bottling, every step is carefully managed. Their products have no added E-substances, colours, or aromas. This shows great skill.
Oddbird offers several products. "Low Intervention Organic Red Nº 1" is the first low-intervention red wine without alcohol. It is from Breganze, Italy. It blends Merlot and Pinot Noir. It has dark berry, blueberry, cherry, and wood tones. It ages for 12 months before the alcohol is removed. "Sparkling Rosé" is from Languedoc-Roussillon, France. It is slightly dry and balanced, with summer berries, green apples, and citrus. They also have "Blanc de Blancs" and "Spumante Rosé". Each has its own blend and taste. They offer a range for those who prefer non-alcoholic options.
Moa and Oddbird have made it possible to enjoy wine's complexity and tradition without alcohol. This appeals to many and makes social events inclusive for everyone.
