Giarola Savem

The Giarola Savem is an Italian producer of flavoured wines, liqueurs, and spirits. Its story dates back to 1910 when the young Abele Giarola became an apprentice in a grocery store in Piacenza. Nine years later, in 1919, driven by his passion for liqueurs, Abele obtained a license to transform flavored wines and produce cold liqueurs, and he opened a small establishment. From producing Marsala OVO came Gran Cremovo Etichetta Nera, today its a flagship product and a widely recognised and successful drink which won four gold medals at trade fairs after its initial launch. Post World Word Two, production continued to flourish and move into vermouth and bitters, including the prestigious Amaro Monte Penice. In 1950, the company was passed Abele’s sons Arrigo and Gastone, who expanded into the importation of Port, rum, whisky, and Cognac and became one of the first certified companies to adopt stainless steel tanks. In the 1960s, an average daily production of thirteen thousand bottles of liqueurs, grappas, fruit spirits, and syrups was reached. Today, Giarola Savem boasts a state-of-the-art facility with an annual production of 3 million bottles, participating in major exhibitions and events in Italy and worldwide.
