Distillerie des Alpes Vermouth
La Distillerie Des Alpes started in 1883 in Chambéry, a town known for its Vermouth. Philibert Routin, the founder, was a master at making liqueurs. He was famous for his unique recipes. His first product, the Elixir Chambérien, had 43 ingredients. But it was his Vermouth that made him well-known.
Philibert's son, Léon, took over in the 1920s. He modernised the business. Thanks to him, Chambéry Vermouth became officially recognised. When Léon died in 1938, the Clochet family kept the business going, even during the war. They worked together, with women, the elderly, and the young, to keep the distillery alive.
After the war, the distillery grew. It made Génépi, a popular drink with tourists. Later, they expanded into syrups and entered the US market. Their success was due to constant innovation and expertise in blending.
In 1994, the distillery launched a new brand, Montania. This showed the family's ambition and unity. Later, they rebranded as La Distillerie Des Alpes. This change respected their history while looking to the future. The spirit of the founder, Philibert, and their commitment to Alpine craftsmanship, stayed the same.
