DeliQuescent

Debbie and Simon Rutherford, a couple, opened Rutherfords, Scotland's first micropub, in the summer of 2015. In the Lothians and Borders region, it won ten awards, including Visit Scotland's Best Bar/Pub in 2020. In 2021, they sold it to Paul Mitchell, a local businessman. Then, in June 2021, they started 'Rutherfords 2', a mobile bar.

After their micropub's success, they entered the spirits market. In 2017, they launched DeliQuescent, a line of small-batch spirits. This range became known for its creative flavours and cocktail ideas.

During a long lockdown in 2021, they experimented more. They created the 'Freeze Me/Squeeze Me' cocktail range. This showed their creativity during tough times.

DeliQuescent's products include unique gins. They have the world's first Haggis Gin, which is vegan and gluten-free. It's smooth, spicy, and peppery. Their Candy Floss Gin is pale pink and tastes of spun sugar. It's best with tonic.

The Toffee Apple Gin mixes apple and toffee flavours. It has an iridescent look like sugar candy. It goes well with Appletiser and an apple slice. Their Rhubarb Rock Gin tastes great with a quinine-free tonic. It has the fruity flavour of Rhubarb Rock.

DeliQuescent shows a passion for flavour and creating unique drinks. It reflects the Rutherfords' commitment to innovation in spirits.
