This small batch gin from Crag & Tail was created in Angus, Scotland by the team behind the drinks distributor, Huffman’s, using twelve botanicals including watermelon, elderflower and citrus. It was launched in September 2018 following the successful acquirement of additional funding from crowd-funding.
In geography, a crag & tail is a landform that consists of a rock hill and tapering ridge which is produced by selective erosion and deposition beneath an ice sheet. Edinburgh Castle is actually built on one.
Bright juniper pairs well with the soft floral notes, while cinnamon gives the mid-palate a kick of warmth.
Always on the lookout for tasty gins and this is certainly in my top 3 ever!!
