Boodles Gin has always been a unique London Dry gin, as it contained no citrus elements. It’s core expression, Boodles British Gin, is well known and has been joined by flavoured editions such as Boodles Mulberry Gin Liqueur.
Associated with the likes of Ian Fleming and Winston Churchill throughout its rich history, the brand was established in 1845 and was originally named after the Pall Mall Gentleman’s Club and produced by Cock Russell & Company. It was first bottled in the United States by Seagram's until 2001, when its assets were sold to several companies, including Pernod Ricard, which took over Boodles.
In 2012, Boodles was purchased by Proximo Spirits of New Jersey so that, in October 2013, Boodles Gin could be relaunched in the UK. It has the same botanical recipe as ever, but the bottle was redesigned. The brand was previously only available for purchase in the US and Japan, despite being made in the UK, at the Greenall's Distillery in Warrington, England. It is distilled in a carter-head vacuum still with a blend of nine botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, angelica seed, cassia bark, caraway seed, nutmeg, rosemary and sage.
