Bath Gin Company

Wander the streets of Bath in Somerset and you’ll be greeted with your fair share of historical sights like the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey (sadly one of our favourite landmarks, The Hobgoblin Pub, has recently closed down). If you walk down the correct cobbled street, however, you’ll discover the home of The Bath Gin Company, which was established in 2013!
Much like a cake, The Bath Gin Company has many layers. Literally. In the basement you’ll find the distillery, housing the first gin still installed in Bath for 250 years. This is where their very own Bath Gin is made (previously it was produced at Thames Distillery) and experiments on the recipe are carried out. The still is name after Jane Austen, author and former resident of Bath - she’s also on the Bath Gin label, giving you a cheeky wink.
At street level is The Canary Gin Bar, which features over 200 different gins along their back bar and cavalcade of talent bar staff that know how to use each and every one of those delicious juniper-based libations. Head upstairs and you’ll be in the Distiller’s Bar, where you (yes, you, the person reading these words) can learn about the wonders of gin production and even make some yourself.
