Anysbos Wine
Anysbos is a boutique winery, olive oil producer, and goat cheese maker located in the Overberg region of South Africa. Founded by Johan and Sue Heyns in 2007, Anysbos is known for its dryland bushvines, including Grenache Noir, Shiraz, Cinsaut, Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, and Roussanne, which are used to produce their acclaimed wines. Anysbos' first wines were bottled and labeled in recent years, marking a significant milestone for the estate. The winery works closely with winemaker Marelise Niemann to produce its wines.
Anysbos has received notable recognition for its wines, including a 5-star rating for its Tesame 2019, a maiden red blend, from the Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide 2022. This achievement was followed by the Disdit 2020 receiving a commendable 93 points and 4.5 stars. According to Vivino, Anysbos wines have an average rating of 4.3, showcasing the quality and craftsmanship behind each bottle.
Beyond wine, Anysbos also produces extra virgin olive oil, utilizing a blend of olive varieties grown on the farm. The olives are hand-picked and cold extracted on the same day to ensure quality. Their goat cheese is made from the milk of a small Toggenburg goat herd, and the handmade cheeses are sold to shops and restaurants in the Overberg region.
