4X50 Rum
4X50 is a unique rum brand, crafted by four friends for a wide circle of friends. Known for its superior quality, 4X50 combines contemporary style with timeless appeal. It’s a global brand without a fixed place, embodying a spirit of social enjoyment.
The Rum
It all began with an ambitious vision. The aim was to create a rum so refined and flavourful that it would stand alongside cognac and whiskey. This rum is exquisitely distilled, needing no additives to enhance its taste. It is a global yet placeless rum, modern yet timeless. Most importantly, it's a rum made by friends, for friends. After over a decade of development, 4X50 has become a reality.
The Master Distiller
Hans Reisetbauer, the master distiller, is a blend of tradition and innovation. A farmer and one of the world’s top distillers, Hans designed a highly sophisticated distillery. This facility, combined with his exceptional taste, brings out new flavours in the rum.
The Ingredients
The perfect rum starts with the perfect ingredients. Hans chose fine, elegant molasses from Mauritius and water from a secret Alpine source. The granite-rich rock massif from where the water is sourced adds to its softness.
The Craft
Making the rum involves two advanced stills and a computer system for fermenting molasses at different temperatures. This innovation enhances the rum's flavour. But it’s Hans’s continuous tasting and adjusting that perfects the rum’s taste.
The Taste
4X50 is aged in specific casks, resulting in a light amber colour. It's full-bodied, smooth, and flavour-rich. The aroma is a mix of spices, smoke, caramel, and orange zest. The taste is complex, with exotic fruits and sugarcane notes. Remarkably, it achieves this taste without any additives.
The Bottle
The bottle for 4X50, designed by Alex Wiederin and produced by Stölzle Glass Group, matches the rum's excellence. The glass is made with precision and care.
The Details
The labels are made from goat leather off-cuts from Markus Meindl’s family business. They feature a lasered logo. The caps, made by Lanza Metallwaren, are of chrome-plated brass.
The Packaging
The packaging is innovative and eco-friendly. Designed by Alex Wiederin and made by Flatz, it uses 100% recycled cardboard. The packaging is durable and smooth, created through a unique thermoforming process.
The Tasting Bottle
The R.N.P. 50ml bottle is a special design for minibars, airlines, or as a gift set. It’s a modern take on a pocket flask and fits well with the 4X50 design family.
The Company
4X50 is the creation of four fellows who aimed to redefine rum. They formed For Fellows GmbH, challenging traditional views of rum. Their goal was to create the world’s first social rum – contemporary, global, and timeless.
The Founders
The founders, including Hans Reisetbauer, Markus Meindl, and Tom Wallmann, bring diverse expertise. Together, they have reimagined rum for a modern audience, breaking free from old clichés.
4X50 is more than just a rum. It's an innovative creation that celebrates friendship and breaks the mould in the rum industry. It stands out for its craftsmanship, quality, and a new vision of what rum can be.
