Cuba has a long and storied history of creating rum, with several strict regulations governing the process. Technically, Cuban rum cannot be flavoured and still be called rum. It’s a rum spirit when additional flavours are added post-distillation. You don’t see Cuban brands creating flavoured editions, but some producers buy Cuban rum and then flavour it later, with its sweet, light, and refined style providing a great backdrop for many flavours. Swift Nick Bueno Rum, for example, was inspired by a certain tasty chocolate bar.
