Hedonism 2026
Blended grain scotch whisky

46% • 70cl

Hedonism returns in a new guise, and as ever, it is not just the label that has evolved. This year’s release sees antique sherry casks meeting first-fill bourbon barrels, with older parcels of Port Dundas matured in refill sherry casks at its heart. This brings dried fruit depth, polished oak and a quietly savoury edge. That richness is counterbalanced by the brighter, creamier lift of first-fill bourbon casks, the backbone of Hedonism’s house style.

Flavour profile

This edition keeps the blend’s trademark elegance but dials up the layering. Expect caffè latte creaminess and butterscotch sweetness up front, lifted by a bright flicker of orange cream. As it settles, richer tones emerge. Polished wood sugars, soft nougat, toasted hazelnut. It is still unmistakably Hedonism. Just with a little extra sherried depth added to its famously golden core.

THE WHISKY THAT STARTED IT ALL
In 2000, Compass Box launched with the first ever blended grain Scotch whisky released to the market. It was called Hedonism.
Over the past 25 years, Hedonism has won numerous awards and became a staple in many whisky fans’ cabinets.
Over time, the old and rare grain whiskies required to make Hedonism have become harder to find, so in February 2024, Hedonism became a Limited Annual Release. And because Hedonism was the first whisky to be adorned with a female form, each year sees  a new, talented female artist reimagine the design.
INTRODUCING EMMA HACK
Emma Hack is a globally acclaimed Australian artist, celebrated for her arresting body art, photography, and immersive installations.

Her artistic style is layered and deeply expressive, best seen in her famous work on Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know music video

With Karen Gillan as her muse, Emma has created an interpretation of the Hedonism woman to celebrate beauty, duality and boldness - breathing new life into the whisky.

A MUSE FOR A MODERN HEDONISM

Actress, director, and proud Scot, Karen Gillan steps into the role as the 2026 Hedonism Muse.

A star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the recent Jumanji films, Gillan is well known to audiences.

They may also be aware that she is also a lifelong whisky lover with roots in the Highlands. Emma saw in Karen the grace, strength and independence that define the original Hedonism woman and has sought to capture that on the new edition's label.

A LIVING IMAGE

Emma's artistic perspective merges the human form with pattern, texture and storytelling.

The 2026 artwork was created in real time, with Emma painting and collaging directly onto Karen, before capturing the final image in a photograph.
You can go behind the scenes and watch the entire process unfold in the film ‘Hedonism Brought to Life’, premiering here on 1st March.

NEW DEPTHS
When Hedonism became a Limited Annual Release, not only did this bring an opportunity to reimagine the Hedonism woman, but also to explore new depths of flavour within the whisky.
The first Hedonism developed by Creative Director of Whiskymaking, Angela D’Orazio, the 2026 release is the oldest expression of this whisky yet, and features a never-seen-before sherry component. The result is a whisky that is richer and darker, but still unmistakably Hedonism.
the evolution of hedonism
In 2000, Compass Box launched the original Hedonism. Since then, it has become their most iconic expression, beloved by bartenders and whisky fans alike.

Over the past 26 years, Compass Box has used Hedonism to push the conversation around grain whisky forward, by releasing limited editions and bespokes that showcase just how delicious this once misunderstood category of whisky can be.

The Most Awarded Independent Whisky Brand in the World

Founded in 2000, Compass Box set out to make Scotch whisky more interesting. Working from its Blending Room in London, the brand has built a reputation for treating blending as a creative discipline rather than a quiet backroom function. Not a distillery, or a mere bottler. Compass Box is a Scotch Whiskymaker, and to be fair, the results justify the title.

Start your journey with the signature blend, Orchard House, then explore the distinct flavour territories of Scotch with the Classics range: Nectarosity, The Peat Monster and Crimson Casks. If you want to push the boundaries further, try the Limited Editions.
