Rémy Martin
Cognac
Rémy Martin VSOP is a cognac that has been produced by Rémy Martin since 1724. The name "VSOP" stands for "Very Superior Old Pale". Rémy Martin VSOP is made from a blend of Grande and Petite Champagne cognacs and is aged for a minimum of four years in French oak barrels. Rémy Martin VSOP is characterized by its smooth, mellow flavour and its amber colour.
Rémy Martin VSOP is one of the most popular cognacs on the market and has won numerous awards throughout the years. Rémy Martin VSOP was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London in 2011, and a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012. Rémy Martin VSOP is also a favourite of celebrities, including Jay-Z, who has mentioned the cognac in several of his songs.
An immensely popular VSOP Cognac from the ever-dependable Rémy Martin. The blend contains 55% Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, the rest being made up of the Petite Champagne. Well-suited as a postprandial tipple, but can also be used in cocktails that need a hearty helping of complex Cognac flavours.
Berry fruits and sweet cereals. White grape, a touch of black olive and custard cream.
Vanilla, manuka honey and red berry coulis. Dried figs, banana chips and a touch of spice.
Truffle and honey.
I have always brought remy and like the bottle but just brought it this christmas in the box when I opened it only to find it in an ordinary glass bottle and the taste was not the same. Will not be buying it any more.
<3 I love this , i could drink this all day. I knew i would find a favorite drink eventually
Rémy Martin VSOP was beautiful i could go through a bottle a week. But now the mature cask well I think it's more like Whiskey than Cognac i have since went onto Hennessy Fine De Cognac & will remain their until such times change.Poor show from Rémy Martin but variety is the spice of life just check out the Samples on here until you find an alternative.
I'm with your mother on this one. This cognac is the only one I have found which I like the taste of. It's replacement is just not as good. I've just bought 3 bottles while I can still get hold of it. I don't think it's cost cutting by the manufacturer, more a case of them aligning their product to their market, which is now America, who would appear to like different taste. Shame. My advice is buy it while you can
My Mother has been a Cognac drinker all her life & states its a shame to see such a good classic & reasonably priced 1 like Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac be discontinued in favour of Rémy Martin Mature Cask VSOP which she considers an inferior product. Point in fact, why fix it if it ain't broke... (Unless it's cost cutting measures by manufacturer...)
