Rémy Martin
Cognac
Rémy Martin VSOP is a cognac that has been produced by Rémy Martin since 1724. The name "VSOP" stands for "Very Superior Old Pale". Rémy Martin VSOP is made from a blend of Grande and Petite Champagne cognacs and is aged for a minimum of four years in French oak barrels. Rémy Martin VSOP is characterized by its smooth, mellow flavour and its amber colour.
Rémy Martin VSOP is one of the most popular cognacs on the market and has won numerous awards throughout the years. Rémy Martin VSOP was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London in 2011, and a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012. Rémy Martin VSOP is also a favourite of celebrities, including Jay-Z, who has mentioned the cognac in several of his songs.
An immensely popular VSOP Cognac from the ever-dependable Rémy Martin. The blend contains 55% Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, the rest being made up of the Petite Champagne. Well-suited as a postprandial tipple, but can also be used in cocktails that need a hearty helping of complex Cognac flavours.
Berry fruits and sweet cereals. White grape, a touch of black olive and custard cream.
Vanilla, manuka honey and red berry coulis. Dried figs, banana chips and a touch of spice.
Truffle and honey.

Good
My Mother has drank VSOP since b4 I was born & for them to up & change it & without even explaining why is just plain wrong... She holds onto the last Frosted green Btl my Gran bought her the Xmas b4 she died & in a pained attempt to reminis over lost loved ones still pours this poor facsimile into the btl. https://www.masterofmalt.com/cognac/remy-martin/remy-martin-vsop-cognac-1990s-cognac/?srh=1 for the win anyday!
After being lucky enough to find a bottle of the original VSOP I was fortunate enough to taste a decent Remy. After buying this bottle all my expectations have changed. It is evident that it is afar from the original. So much so I am thinking that the recipe is completely different as with said bottle, it went from being alright then a fortnight later the taste changed to drinking something that resembles brandy flavoured mouthwash.
Don't get me wrong, it isn't undrnkable, but for the first time ever, I think I would rather a good quality generic brandy rather than a Remy Cognac. If you have a somewhat rough whisky and mix it with some proper cognac, the result tastes a bit like this. Great shame. I only logged in on here in the offchance that they might have had a stock pile of the proper stuff. Alas no.
Why discontinue remy vsop, I drink 3 bottles a week and love vsop I would be willing to pay more but why discontinue such a awesome product.
