Rémy Martin VSOP is a cognac that has been produced by Rémy Martin since 1724. The name "VSOP" stands for "Very Superior Old Pale". Rémy Martin VSOP is made from a blend of Grande and Petite Champagne cognacs and is aged for a minimum of four years in French oak barrels. Rémy Martin VSOP is characterized by its smooth, mellow flavour and its amber colour.
Rémy Martin VSOP is one of the most popular cognacs on the market and has won numerous awards throughout the years. Rémy Martin VSOP was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London in 2011, and a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012. Rémy Martin VSOP is also a favourite of celebrities, including Jay-Z, who has mentioned the cognac in several of his songs.
An immensely popular VSOP Cognac from the ever-dependable Rémy Martin. The blend contains 55% Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, the rest being made up of the Petite Champagne. Well-suited as a postprandial tipple, but can also be used in cocktails that need a hearty helping of complex Cognac flavours.

My Mum was born in 1951 & has drank the original all her life, she even has kept the last empty green btl she was bought by Gran b4 she died. She states thie new version is p. poor! She mainly drinks wine now or the odd Spanish brandy she states their better value & more interesting than mature cask & infinatly more chuffable.
Such a shame as the original was a classic cognac. This is a pale imitation! Won't be drinking it again!
SO disappointed, I have been drinking Remy all my adult life, (I am 67) and I expected this to be the same if not better than the V.S.O.P. I am used to. After all, why replace a good product with an inferior one? And this really is not as good as it should be. I have been used to keeping a bottle of my favourite cognac to one side for special guests and occasions and I would normally buy six bottles at a time. Unfortunately I now have five early Christmas presents for my Xmas list, (non family)! To rate this brandy, I would say it is quite good but not very special. In fact now I think about it, I have a bottle of Spanish brandy that is at least as good as this new Remy, (Spain is not noted for its brandy). I do hope the good people at Remy Martin have a change of heart and bring back my favourite indulgence as soon as possible.
