A Cognac that celebrates the Louis XV's decision to grant a young Rémy Martin the right to plant new vines on his land (banned in France at the time) with the Accord Royal in 1738. It's said that the Cognac was enjoyed at the King's court at the time, with Rémy having planted his first vineyard in 1724. This unique blend has been made with majesty very much in mind.
Classic Rémy Sidecar recipe:
- Simply pour 30ml Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal, 20ml Cointreau, and 10ml lemon juice into a shaker filled with ice.
- Strain and pour into a coupette glass.
- Finish with orange peel for a rich flavour or lemon peel for freshness.
Ripe fruit and vanilla with a slightly herbal vinous note.
Rounded and balanced vanilla and dried fruits.
Pronounced, but not overpowering, oak finish.
Rémy with a little extra majestic gusto thrown in.
This is a great tasting, smooth, sweet cognac! This is just shy of being an XO and for a great price. Truly delicious!
Really smooth cognac. Much nicer than a standard Reme Martin. It’s has the sweet syrupy smell and taste of apples, raisins and figs. Goes great with a nice cigar.
This is the difference between brandy and cognac. The heated glass warms to body heat. The taste is great, the smoothness is excellent. You can feel it slip down your throat, into your belly, and feel the sudden fire erupt. A fire that is like a glowing beacon of welcome. The next drink is exactly the same as the first, and the last. Once sampled, you will never have anything else to match it ! 1738 will always be in your cellar. This cognac is a definite medicinal recipe, which will always pick you up. Good health !
This was bought for me as a gift. It is the best, the smoothest brandy that I have tasted to date. Not only that, but the flavours are gorgeous. I am essentially a malt whisky lover, but this Brandy could easily tempt me over. I purchase all my whisky from Master of Malt, in future, I will be including this superb Brandy.
