This is a VS Cognac from Pierre Ferrand, made to an original recipe from 1840. It is a premier cru brandy, made from grapes grown in the Grande Champagne region of Cognac. The result was awarded 94 points at the Ultimate Spirit Challenge 2012.
Honey and hints of fresh blossom. Cigar leaves. Vanilla.
Dried peels and allspice. Acacia honey and dried apricot.
Spiced finish, ending on Black Forest honey and dried peels.
Tried this on holiday in Madrid and loved it! Soon as I returned home bought a bottle as it is that good. I'm not going to go on about 'notes of caramelly blah' my palate isn't that sophisticated. Just that I usually drink Janneau XO and to me, this is a better drink. Go on, try it!
