A truly awesome 1995 vintage Cognac from the wonderful Chez Richon, produced predominantly from Ugni Blanc grapes, though there's a few Folle Blanche in there too. After distillation, it was matured in 350 litre casks, with around eight months in new oak before it was transferred to old Limousin casks. After resting in damp cellars, it was eventually bottled by Hermitage at 43% ABV.
Dusty cocoa, oily walnut and dulche de leche, with a hint of apple and blackberry crumble alongside orange shortbread.

For the price, this is awesome. Smooth, flavourful with a long finish. In our opinion, it slightly edges out the 2008 which is, in itself, a great Cognac for the price.
