The term XO was coined for this very Cognac by Maurice Hennessy in the 19th century, and it was first bottled in 1870 for family and friends. This blend is composed of over 100 eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois regions. A rich, spicy, complex and truly historical Cognac, destined to be had alongside a cigar.
A rich, fruity palate with prunes, Corinth raisins and sticky toffee pudding.
Dark chocolate and over-ripe plums. A little sultana character, cocoa butter and spice.
Spicy, vanilla-led finish with all kinds of dark fruits.
This is my go to special. On the rare occasion I feel the evenings been near perfect, this beauty comes out usually with a Churchill Robusto or micthellero. The marmalade does it for me,and you don’t get the harshness of other. To me it’s as good as it gets and as much I can justify paying.
Beautiful and smooth to drink the Hennessy XO is €210 and the Hennessy XO ABV is a little under €160 but still both beautiful ?????❤️❤️?
Had for Cristmas,Just opened. Exceeded my expectations. This is sooooooo good, had trouble putting the bottle away after two glasses Just BUY it
Camus XO (both) blows all of these XOs away with layered complexity and flavours but Hennessy XO used to be my go to, but not any more after the price hikes as that left a bitter sweet taste in my mouth.
This is smooth, rich and beautiful. It has the feel of armagnac in the way it has the classic Hennessy kick at the end. This in a hip flask on the beating line is superb. Or just for when sitting and relaxing in the countryside. Ideally an outside drink as the fresh air opens your airways and releases more of the complexity of the drink.
