The term XO was coined for this very Cognac by Maurice Hennessy in the 19th century, and it was first bottled in 1870 for family and friends. This blend is composed of over 100 eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois regions. A rich, spicy, complex and truly historical Cognac, destined to be had alongside a cigar.
A rich, fruity palate with prunes, Corinth raisins and sticky toffee pudding.
Dark chocolate and over-ripe plums. A little sultana character, cocoa butter and spice.
Spicy, vanilla-led finish with all kinds of dark fruits.

“I got a bottle of Hennessy X.O. Couple years ago for a friends birthday. When we opened it, it was amazing! It's warm and inviting, the taste is was everything that was promised and for some reason it reminds me of Christmas. I can't wait to get my own bottle and I have become a huge fan of the Hennessy brand.”

Over hyped. Over priced. Better off going independent brands like De Luze, Prunier or Godet. Far better value.
Amazing aroma , experienced it for the first time while on Holiday in the Far East!
Disappointed. Not as complexed as I remember. Very expensive these days for what it is.
Nothing special at all, and no way does it taste 4 times better than Hennessy VSOP (just saying that as it is 4 times more costly). Prefer Courvoisier XO by a long chalk. Still, cognac is the boy though. And i am just one human, so my opinion alone is just that and potentially meaningless to another.
