The term XO was coined for this very Cognac by Maurice Hennessy in the 19th century, and it was first bottled in 1870 for family and friends. This blend is composed of over 100 eaux-de-vie from the Grande and Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois regions. A rich, spicy, complex and truly historical Cognac, destined to be had alongside a cigar.
A rich, fruity palate with prunes, Corinth raisins and sticky toffee pudding.
Dark chocolate and over-ripe plums. A little sultana character, cocoa butter and spice.
Spicy, vanilla-led finish with all kinds of dark fruits.
Hennessy XO is perfect for savouring on a cold winter's night in front of a wood fire. It is deliciously smooth and warming without the sharp hit at the back of the throat that you get with some cheaper Cognac's.
i am dry alcoholic. so i usually don't drink. but this one i use when baking and cooking for friends. it is just great! The taste is complex and very soft. its better than any spice.
i love this with coke zero. the coke isn't as sweet as normal full fat so doesn't over power the drink......... calm down i'm not that heathen. one of my favoured tipples when notin the mood for a single malt.
