A classic VSOP cognac, this is matured for between 8 and 12 years in a selection of Troncais and Limousin oak barrels.
The Courvoisier brandy used in this bottling is sourced from the two premier regions of Cognac - the Grande Champagne and the Petite Champagne regions.
Whole coffee beans, mint leaves, kumquat, and red grape notes appear at first. Give it a minute and more savoury elements appear, with hints of buttered brown bread and a little whiff of sawdust.
More coffee notes as it opens (this would be a really good partner to espresso after a big meal). Develops touches of brown sugar, waxy apple peels, sweet pea, and a fragrant oakiness.
Ooh, a nice waft of almost-smoky cinnamon on the finish. Slowly becomes sweeter with fresh pear and gummy bears.
I was so chuffed with this product! My father and I really enjoyed this smooth, fiery liquid. We loved the Smokey flavour and the light caramel aftertaste. We will certainly be buying this!
This is a quality cognac. I've thoroughly enjoyed it. It's nice and smooth. Can't complain at the price and I will be purchasing in the future. The box it comes in makes it a really good present too.
A hint of vanilla and citrus taste. It is smooth for seasoned brandy drinkers but could be strong if you’re not used to it. I found it very refreshing and enjoyable. Poured over ice you can’t go wrong.
I was impressed with this brandy it was so smooth I enjoyed it neat. It was also great with lemonade or in a cocktail. I think it was worth it’s price
This cognac is smooth, warming and delicious. The amber colour is comforting, the flavour is warm with a hint of spice, and it's perfect on its own or with a mixer. I tried with a splash of diet coke. Lovely.
