A classic VSOP cognac, produced with grapes from four crus – Fins Bois, Borderies, Petite Champagne, and Grande Champagne, matured for up to 12 years in a selection of Courvoisier's own proprietary barrels. With layers of balanced oak, stone fruits, coffee, and gentle spice, it's a superbly versatile Cognac for both neat sipping and cocktails.
Whole coffee beans, mint leaves, kumquat, and red grape notes appear at first. Give it a minute and more savoury elements appear, with hints of buttered brown bread and a little whiff of sawdust.
More coffee notes as it opens (this would be a really good partner to espresso after a big meal). Develops touches of brown sugar, waxy apple peels, sweet pea, and a fragrant oakiness.
Ooh, a nice waft of almost smoky cinnamon on the finish. Slowly becomes sweeter with fresh pear and gummy bears.

I was very impressed with my first glass of Courvoisier Cognac. It was my first time to try this brand. It is so lovely to sip it neat. The flavours as they go around your mouth is unbelievable. I have not tried any cocktails yet. I will make sure to keep it in my drinks cabinet. Highly recommend as a gift or any occasion at home. It will be very welcomed.
At first I found the taste a little too strong, even watered down with a mixer, but over time I adjusted to the taste and appreciated savouring it slower over the course of an evening after a busy day. The flavour notes come out better when adding a mixer. I had never tried this type of alcohol Cognac before so it was pleasant, was plenty ti share with friends in the 70cl bottle and I love how the cork goes pop and squeak as you open the bottle. I would order this out for sure, might be pricey behind a bar though? Generally yum! Felt like an upgraded whiskey and definitely a premium brand. Smooth.
I absolutely love this drink, it tastes like summer in my mouth. It’s rich and full of flavour, there’s a subtle hint of gingerbread coming through. Will definitely purchase again
Both my husband and myself enjoy drinking an occasional Cognac as a treat and this definitely didn’t disappoint. Mine is always after dinner, relaxing and contemplating the day, his will be with a coffee to start the day (we lived in Spain for many years!!). What we both commented on is how smooth and well rounded the flavour is. There is no sharp after taste or burning that you get with some more pricier brands, just a delicious soft flavour and a really pleasant warmth. We would not hesitate to recommend to family & friends and we will definitely be re purchasing.
I usually cannot drink spirits, neet. But as I was testing I wanted to get the maximum experience. So smooth was my first sip, no burning, just a nice warm feeling. You suddenly get a great taste of gingerbread with fruitiness and flora. I thought a bit like cherry but I see on the bottle that it’s peach & apricot. Nevertheless it leaves a really nice taste in your mouth. Unlike some cognacs that can leave a bitter chemical aftertaste only masked with a mixer! So then I tried it in a tall glass with ice and ginger ale. That’s the one, my new summer drink. Simply does it! At 56 calories for each 25mls, it’s not going to ruin my diet but and at 40%, I felt that it hit the right spot. Whether you are a drinker of cognacs or not, I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. Would make a great gift as it is nicely boxed.
