A classic VSOP cognac, produced with grapes from four crus – Fins Bois, Borderies, Petite Champagne, and Grande Champagne, matured for up to 12 years in a selection of Courvoisier's own proprietary barrels. With layers of balanced oak, stone fruits, coffee, and gentle spice, it's a superbly versatile Cognac for both neat sipping and cocktails.
Whole coffee beans, mint leaves, kumquat, and red grape notes appear at first. Give it a minute and more savoury elements appear, with hints of buttered brown bread and a little whiff of sawdust.
More coffee notes as it opens (this would be a really good partner to espresso after a big meal). Develops touches of brown sugar, waxy apple peels, sweet pea, and a fragrant oakiness.
Ooh, a nice waft of almost smoky cinnamon on the finish. Slowly becomes sweeter with fresh pear and gummy bears.

This is lovely cognac which is very smooth . It’s perfect neat or with a mixer. It offers floral taste which makes you think of summer and would be great to enjoy on a summers evening . There is a hint gingerbread and offers a warming feeling when drinking neat. I used lemonade as my mixer of choice which definitely created a refreshing summer drink. It’s comes in an attractive box which is great if buying for a gift and the design is classic and represents quality .
Loved this drink! I tried it a few ways, over ice, neat and long with a mixer. It always had a great depth of flavour to it and was delicious. It's a really nice spirit to savour over the course of a couple of hours (if you can make it last that long!). It comes in a really fancy looking box and feels premium when opening it, and the friend I shared it with one evening really liked the drink too.
Eye: The spirit is an amber colored liquid upon first glance, but once poured displays itself in more of a copper once out in the open. Tilt the glass a slow twirl and a few tilts to reveal medium-sized droplets. Nose: When the cognac is distilled and aged, it begins to conjure the soft, luscious aroma of ripe peach. After several years in French fine-grained oak barrels, the spirit develops nutty notes and ages to produce a sweet, caramelized flavor of toasted almonds. The distillation on the lees is a complex process but it gives fruity and musky notes, with an aroma of jasmine. Palate: The palate gives a lengthy finish. The finish is toasted almonds, toffee, and stone fruits. A dry finish of baking spice.
I drank a bottle with my husband and we both thought it was a great. Smooth taste perfect with or without a mixer. However, drinks with added fruit (pineapple, orange, lemon) and cane sugar were my favourites. Excellent taste and flavour profile, Jasmine, rose, dried peaches and something what i really like, gingerbread which made the alcohol a bit spicy. The cognac is really good and the bottle has a simple classic design, it's a great gift idea, we even bought one for our father-in-law who is a big fan of cognacs. I would recommend for any occasion! The very best Cognac I've tried at this price range. Smooth and rich flavour with a gradual build up of intensity that even those new to Cognac would enjoy. Perfect accompaniment to my Friday evening.
