Blue Label, dressed for the Year of the Horse

Each Lunar New Year release from Johnnie Walker is a new collectable.

Inside the bottle is standard Johnnie Walker Blue Label, which is to say, not remotely standard. The blend pulls from rare stocks across the brand’s reserves, with only a tiny fraction of casks ever deemed suitable.

The exterior always features a design from an exceptional artist, tasked with bringing to life the imagery of the Lunar New Year.

This year is particularly beautiful. It being the Year of the Horse, Hong Kong-born, London-based fashion designer Robert Wun had plenty to work with.

Wun’s design leans into the forward-driving symbolism of the Horse. Motion, momentum, ambition. A whisky that has built its identity around forward motion feels like an obvious pairing.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label

Year of the Horse 2026

This is still Blue Label. A carefully constructed blend built from some of Scotland’s rarest and most characterful whiskies. Expect waves of fruit, soft spice, honeyed richness and a slow-building smokiness that lingers long after the glass is set down. It is polished, balanced and unmistakably luxurious without being loud about it. This is a bottle made to be given, displayed, but still opened. Because Blue Label, at its best, is still about the moment you pour it.
