Comtes de Champagne is the upmarket label, or prestige cuvée, from Taittinger, one of the Grand Marque houses. As such it uses only the finest grapes from the best vineyards in Champagne. This 2007 Rosé is made up of 70% pinot noir (of which 15% of that is red wine) and 30% chardonnay. Delightful now, this is only going to get better over the next 10-15 years, if you have the patience.
Ripe strawberries and cherries on the nose with savoury yeasty notes and something spicy here too. Full acidity and body, lovely tang to this with orange citrus notes, orange peel, and meaty notes underneath. Fine bubbles, really elegant.
