This gorgeous magnum bottle of Pol Roger's Brut Réserve was crafted in homage to Sir Winston Churchill. As it happens, Churchill was an avid painter (as well as lover of Pol Roger), and this limited edition gift box is based on one of his famed paintings 'The Goldfish Pool at Chartwell'. Ripe pear, green apple and spring blossom. Subtle vanilla elements start to sneak in after a moment or two.
Fresh, crumbly biscuits with a drizzle of honey. Stone fruit develops, particularly white peach. Quite fine bubbles, very charming indeed.
Refreshing and balanced.
Tasted sharp, a bit bitter, but with hints of tart fruits and reminded me of summer. The price was higher then other providers however i do believe this was because of the 1.5L.
