Champagne
France
1 Jan 2013
A delightful release from the revered Champagne Pol Roger. The 2013 vintage was made from a traditional house blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay grapes from the 20 Grands and Premiers crus vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs and was aged on lees for 7 years in the house's coolest cellars before being disgorged in April 2020. This right here is a magnum bottle of the marvellous Champagne!
It's got notes of pink grapefruit, lemon peel, white flower and tropical fruit with great fresh acidity and a light delicate mineral finish.

Sometimes NV champagne can be quite acidic, but this is a gentler and more balanced offering. Disappeared rather too quickly but enjoyed by all. Will continue to improve in a good cellar. Really very good value at this price point.
Classically crowd pleasing with complexity of age starting to add to the magnum effect. Overall a 18.5/20 Amazing value at MoM prcing
