Château du Breuil VSOP is distilled from fruit from the 42 hectares of hillside orchards before maturation in Troncais or Limousin oak. Soft and rounded.
A 'beginners' Calvados. Very correct, decent balance of front-end apples and some soft brown sugar age, an ideal 'first bottle' for someone interested in Calvados. However it's not a patch on the real thing: farmhouse distilled and aged Calvados, perhaps 2o+ years old: yes, a farmhouse calvados wont be cheap but the complexity of scents and tastes will bowl you over.
