This Calvados from Château du Breuil is aged for 2 years before bottling, this was awarded a silver and "best in class" at the 2008 International Wine and Spirit Competition and a Bronze at the 2009 General Competition of Paris.
It may be a little entry-level for calvados fans (incidentally, a group whose venn diagram overlaps completely with fans of cravats and competitive sheep shearing, like a perfect eclipse). All the same, the day I'll turn down a glass of Château du Breuil is the day I grow tired of shearing my perfectly coiffed merino ram (never).
Bought for Christmas present for my husband after watching Swedish series of *Beck" who always had a glass at night.
Young, yet mature to please. Excellent, while affordable, introduction to calvados.
I visited the distillery several months ago, and brought a bottle home. Wonderful on a cold evening after dinner.
