At the apex of the spectacular Carlos I selection of Spanish brandies sits their Imperial XO expression. Aged in a Solera system featuring casks that previously held Oloroso and Amontillado Sherries, this expression has been made using brandies that have age for up to 20 years!
Earthy and rich at first, with tobacco and old oak up front. As it develops, sweetness of fresh figs, dates and a hint of raspberry arrives on the palate. Caramel-coated nuts and clove heat.
“An outstanding XO from Carlos, just looking at the bottle, you know it contains something quite special. The First thing I noticed, was how heavy the stopper was when removing from the bottle. The tasting note by the Chaps at Master of Malt, is spot on. It’s a Brandy to be savoured and enjoyed and not rushed, it is for special occasions a truly outstanding Brandy, if this was a Cognac, it would (in my option) cost twice as much.”

Compared with products priced considerably higher this is a superb tipple. I shall be buying more.
I’m not an expert but I know what I like and this definitely hits the shot for we. I compares vert well with French XO products that are more than twice the price.
Bought one bottle to test and was impressed with the quality. Had a friend over and he enjoyed it so much that i ordered one for his bday… and another one for me… It reminds me of the Metaxa Angel’s treasure but not there yet (but considering this is 1/3 of the price, it’s a good deal)
It’s exquisite. Everything about it is wonderful, the colour, texture, smoothness, flavour, fruitiness, length. Very slight rancio. So moreish
