Amphora 7 Stars is a fab Greek brandy, with botanicals and Muscat wine. The brand was created by Spyros Metaxa in 1888.
Terrible, disgusting, don't waste your money - there wont be enough for me!
I no longer buy Brandy/Cognac since I started drinking Metaxa 10 years ago. 7 Star is splendid stuff. The Metaxa Private Reserve is exceptional.
Well the 7* version is way too sweet in taste for someone like me, though it has a rich taste of different botanics and a clear taste of the muscat wine which is the main cause of the sweetness. I do recommend it for people who like sweet stuff not for the casual brandy lover. My personal recommendation is the Metaxa Grand Fine
Love the stuff, especially in winter in front of the fireplace. Always drink it neat. It makes no sense to have a drink thats being aging for 7+ years, and then ruin it by mixing it in a cocktail. Use something cheaper for that. Having said that, I recently used it to create a home make liquer with sour cherries. Briefly, this is sour cherries mixed with sugar, whole cloves and cinnamon sticks which is placed in a glass bottle (sealed) and left in the sun for 3 months. I then run it through a coffee filter to clarify it and mix it with Metaxa 7 star. That rests for about a month. The result is heaven.
just the best
