It's wonderful the best drink I ever had in Spain. I was a Remy Martin fan until I discovered Fundador It's Cheap, It's Rubbish and It's fantastic.

Very different- worth the buy for something different

To be fair, I must tell you that I am a distiller that makes mostly whisky and a couple puncheons of brandy every year. Most of what I drink that isn't my own is Cognac. That said, FSR is not for everyone. It is different. If you are expecting a French VS or VSOP, then you will be disappointed. This particular brandy uses different grapes and a different ageing system. It's got that telltale fruitcake nose, but with a slight pungency that I promise you won't expect. When this Spanish spirit hits your tongue you are soon greeted with a taste reminiscent of sulphur. This fades into spice and then quickly overpowered by some fruity grape, black cherry, and apricot flavors. On first sip I actually hated it. By about the third and fourth I admit that it wasn't so bad. I think the variance in my expectations of brandy and spirits were not met. This is different- not in the "I've been drinking Pappy Van Winkle and I just tried some rot-gut Kentucky Gentleman", but more like I've been drinking Eagle Rare and had sip of Bookers". Neither are bad whiskies, just wildly different. I bought a bottle of Fundador Solera Reserve for about 25 bucks and it was worth it. Is it going to be a daily nip? Definitely not. Is it something that I want to keep around and show to my friends when I want to look sophisticated in my knowledge of booze? You damn right it is. Gracias.

fudador brandy

Coming from a holiday in Tenerife we bought a bottle of Fundador and after tasting and enjoying it we are looking to buy more.
