This pot still brandy from South Africa's Copper Republic has been aged in bourbon casks, and then finished in African honeybush wood! The char notes from the maturation along with the sweeter notes from the wood balance deliciously, and it's sure to make for a warming postprandial sipper.
Generously spiced and a touch creamy, with honeyed sweetness, oily nuts and toasted wood alongside dried apricot.
Received this as a present last weekend and decided it deserves a review. It's excellent and so much better than the standard, Remy, Hennessey type brandy I've had in the past. I'm no expert but its thicker, slightly sweet and complex to the extent I'd say its a little herbal. Very pleased with it and I love the bottle too with it's solid copper cap. No way will I be able to throw this bottle away when finished! Awesome!
