A multi-award-winning brandy, St Rémy XO was first introduced to the market back in 1990. It's produced from grapes from some rather well-known vineyards in France, including Burgundy, Champagne, Rhône Valley, Languedoc Roussillon, Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Beaujolais. The brandy is then aged in small French oak barrels before bottling at 40% ABV. A versatile tipple that's fabulous neat or in any cocktails which call for a brandy.
Vanilla pod and candied ginger, dried fruit, praline, aromatic wood spice and apricot jam.
After the massive disappointment following the change in taste of the good old Remy Martin VSOP Cognac (see reviews there from round 2015), I have been looking for a decent alternative for a LONG time. Somehow I stumbled upon this drink one day, and I must say, it is obviously not as good as the VSOP Remy (green frosted) we used to know, BUT, it is miles better than the current batch of Remy VSOP (which is more to me like a “cinnamon liquor” if that makes sense?) and comes at a fraction of the price. Cheers!
