BREATHTAKING BOTTLINGS FROM BOWMORE
30, 40 & 50 year old rare limited edition whisky
As Islay's oldest distillery, it should come as no surprise that Bowmore produces some extraordinarily well-matured expressions from its outstanding stocks. The team has delved deep into history for this terrific trio of single malt Scotch whiskies, each aged for decades before being deemed ready to present to the world. If old Islay whisky is your idea of deliciousness, you are in for an absolute treat here…
30
Distilled back in 1989 and set aside to age for three decades, the Bowmore 30 Year Old is an exceptional single malt boasting glorious helpings of vibrant fruit notes alongside characteristic wafts of savoury peat. Crafted by distillery manager David Turner and master blender Ron Welsh, it was matured in a combination of sherry hogsheads and bourbon barrels, before eventually being bottled up at a cask strength of 45.1% ABV.
30 Year Old Tasting Note

Bowmore 40 Year Old Whisky
Few distilleries have the stocks to release single malt Scotch whiskies that have spent four decades resting, but that's what we're looking at here from Bowmore. This 40 year old expression was distilled in 1978 and aged in a combination of casks that previously held bourbon and Bodega sherry. Many moons later, distillery manager David Turner and master blender Ron Welsh released this whisky at a cask strength of 48.7% ABV, with only 161 bottles produced. The presentation box reflects the wood that the whisky was aged in, as well as the stone covering Islay, weathered over the centuries by the wind and the sea.
40 Year Old Tasting Note
Colour: Deep and rich mahogany
Nose: Honey, treacle, and exotic fruits, combined with polish, beeswax, and caramel
Palate: Pipe tobacco, toffee, and chocolate unite with spices, leather, chestnuts, and pralines
Finish: Long, lingering, and luxurious

Bowmore 50 year Old Whisky
A jaw-dropping release from Bowmore, the last in their astonishing Vaults series, the Bowmore 1969 is a 50 year old single malt Scotch whisky. Over five decades of patient maturation went into making this incredible whisky, bringing together spirit that was aged in both American oak ex-bourbon casks and Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks at a natural cask strength of 46.9% ABV. The beautiful presentation case was created by master craftsman John Galvin, inspired by the rugged warehouse where the whisky spent 50 years of slumber. An admirable tribute to Bowmore's legacy.
1969 50 Year Old Tasting Note
Colour: Burnished chestnut
Nose: Freesia, dried geranium, and lilies of the valley merge with the aromas of Chablis, citrus fruits, and gooseberries, followed by sweeter notes of acacia honey, apple pie, vanilla pods, and cream
Palate: Initially dry and floral with notes of carnations, developing into sweeter notes of lemon meringue, grilled almonds, and light crème caramel fudge, with a hint of white pepper, nutmeg oak spices, and light coconut
Finish: Lightly sweet and warm with subtle floral notes and malty flavours
