The Left Bank is a marvellous cocktail with a very interesting story behind it... It was originally created in honour of the leap year in 2012, and for one day only 20cl bottles of it were sold under the name "Super Secret Leap Year Cocktail". Customers who purchased the cocktail were asked to guess the ingredients, and whoever guessed the most accurately had the honour of naming the cocktail for its official release in the Handmade Cocktail Company's range.
The cocktail's ingredients still remain a secret, but we can hint that the recipe includes some sort of whiskey, and various herbal and spiced additions...
Sweet notes of charred oak and butterscotch with a mix of intense, almost medicinal herbs. Bitter wood, potpourri and treacle. Vanilla.
Sweet vanilla and spices, with hints of clove and cinnamon. All very herbal, with notes of lozenges, mint and black pepper.
Buttery and spicy finish.
