    Antique Negroni - 1980s - Batch 4

Here we have the fourth batch of Antique Negroni from the Handmade Cocktail Company, made using ingredients bottled in the 1980s. A delicious treat for those of you interested in spirits from the past...

The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a healthy slice of fresh orange). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Red grapes, a fleeting waft of dry Sherry, leather, wood-y juniper, clove and sweet, smoked paprika.

    Palate

Raspberries and strawberries bring juicy sweetness to the table, with a spark of sugared orange peel. Swiftly becomes dry and bitter, with hints of cedar and black tea.

    Finish

Continuing black tea with a spicy hint of cinnamon sticks.

    Overall

The antique spirits used for this have added a new depth of flavour to the classic aperitif. Utterly superb.
