Using their skill and cunning in equal measures (they are cocktail makers, so they're good at that measuring lark), the Handmade Cocktail Company have gone ahead and put together an incredible Manhattan cocktail which was left to age in an oak cask before it was bottled. Supremely complex with an astounding depth, this truly is something to behold - a cocktail that was a year in the making.
The Handmade Cocktail Company's Manhattan recipe is a definite crowd pleaser, based around a rye-rich bourbon, a selection of vermouths and a top secret blend of bitters.
The concept of the ‘Vintage Cocktail’ range is simple – you get all the ingredients for a superb cocktail pre-mixed, all you have to do is pour it over ice, stir, then strain off into your glass and garnish (in this instance with a Maraschino cherry). Each bottle carries a stamp showing its year of manufacture.
Deliciously soapy, herbal aromas, alongside notes of sweet wines, spicy rye whiskey and just a hint of dill.
Ripe, rich, juicy palate. Plenty of red berry fruits, hints of custard apple, cranberry sauce and pepper. The whiskey provides a spiced, intense, gripping backbone to the palate, and becomes more prominent after a time.
Long, spiced, vanilla finish with all kinds of dried citrus and spice.
Massively intense with a wonderful oaky grip.
