Ho ho ho!
The elves are on lunch break, the tree’s down from the attic, and I’m up to my beard in tinsel. I need a good distraction. How about another #WhiskySanta Super Wish?
Bunnahabhain 40 Year Old. How about that then? A whisky valued at £2,250! (That’s what a mince pie will cost in the UK in about 20 years #satiricalsanta.)
Before we meet our superstar, a cheer for Benjamin Kenneth Drew on Facebook, who scored last week’s Laphroaig 34 Year Old – The Ian Hunter Story Book 5: Enduring Spirit worth £1,200!

Meet the Super Wish: Bunnahabhain 40 Year Old
Now, back to this week’s Super Wish: the extraordinary Bunnahabhain 40 Year Old.
There’s aged whisky, and then there’s this. Bunnahabhain represents the softer side of Islay with its unpeated spirit, aged in sherry casks by the sea.
In this case, we’ve got four decades of maturation magic doing its thing, and the result is sublime. All dark chocolate, roasted nuts, old oak furniture, and waves of sweet dried (and some tropical) fruit, wrapped in a gentle coastal breeze.
It’s honestly the kind of whisky that makes you believe in Christmas miracles.
How to wish for #WhiskySanta’s Bunnahabhain 40 Year Old Super Wish
Super Wishes essentially work just like the usual Ask #WhiskySanta wishing fun on social media. Except that this particular – exceptional – bottle will 100% go to one lucky soul who wishes for it.
- Instagram: Head to Master of Malt’s Insta Stories to grab a screenshot you can post to yours tagging @masterofmalt
- Twitter (X) or Facebook: Hit the big red “Ask #WhiskySanta” button on the Bunnahabhain 40 Year Old page. A box will pop up ready to send you onwards to post your wish – just be sure to include #WhiskySanta (and obv make sure it’s public).
The deadline is 23:59 GMT Thursday 27 November. The elves’ union will strike if I’m late, so no exceptions. The lucky fellow whose wish is granted will be revealed on Friday 28 November.
And yes, you can still wish for anything across the Master of Malt site in the meantime. I’ll be granting daily wishes until Christmas Eve. Best of luck.
