The
story
My nan is 101, she crossed the Atlantic at a young age, landing in Scotland by way of Ireland. She's built of proper stout stuff. She's survived to be 101 on a diet of whisky, haggis and a loathing for other humans that would make Ron Swanson blush.
Our house is full of stories like the time nan patted me on the head, handing me a pound, whilst saying "there you go fatty" through a veiled smile. Some of my favourite stories are about that mean old girl. When I raise a glass of Black Cannon, I think of nan. Whisky made of stern stuff and as black as me old nan's heart.
The
Taste
When whisky spends time resting in casks that used to hold Pedro Ximenez wine, the spirit takes on colour and character that only exposure to these conditions can provide.
