Designed to be carried in your hand luggage so never again will you have to cancel a holiday out of fear of not having a decent selection of cocktail bitters. The Bitter Truth has come up with these charming little miniature bottles of 5 of their best bitters. These include Celery, Old Time Aromatic Bitters, Orange, Creole and Gerry's Own Decanters Bitters. Delicious.
Brilliant! I wanted to start experimenting with bitters but the individual price per bottle really put me off. Here you get 5 for the price of 2 and the miniscule quantities you'll be using mean that the small 'sample' bottle sizes will still all last for ages. So far of the 5 very different bitters included I'm favouring the Creole and Orange which add brilliant depth and complexity to gin and bourbon cocktails respectively. A couple of the others are very clove heavy to smell/taste on their own but I can still imagine them working wonders in just the right cocktail. I've got those experiments still to look forward to. The tin is nicely made but feels a bit gimmicky, is anyone really travelling around with a set of these in their luggage?? For practicalities sake the little bottles will be sitting individually with the rest of my home bar but nevertheless the packaging is fun. The main thing is these are lovely bitters and an absolute bargain for any budding mixologist out there.
