A superb and fairly old Armagnac from Château de Gensac in south west France, which spent an entire two decades ageing in French oak barrels. The casks imparted a rich, amber colour as well as a rich and full bodied flavour profile.
Reminiscent of mulled wine, with loads of spices, dried fruit, namely prunes, and somewhat drying oak tannins.

I’ve just been reading a review on this spirit from ‘the worlds best sommelier’ I think 2016. He says this is superb liquid, so I tried it and yes it is incredible, layered fruit and tobacco.
