While regular Aalborg Akvavit features a yummy full palate of caraway notes, this Aalborg 'Dild' variation of the Danish spirit features the fresh, earthy, herbal flavours of dill and just a smidgeon of citrus.
I’m astonished at this aquavit. From first opening the cap I could smell the wonderful scent of dill. This was also strong on tasting with a deep richness of lemon giving additional alto notes and at the base a measure of almost fruitiness. This is a delight either on its own or with fish. Tried with cod, cod roes, salmon and gravalax. Wow! What a complement.
