This right here is a cardboard VR headset. It comes delivered to you completely flat, but in just a few steps, you'll have built your very own gateway to a whole different dimension (metaphorically - we accept no responsibility should you actually tear a hole between dimensions). Simply place your smartphone within the constructed headset and look through the lenses to enter the world of VR via compatable apps and videos available on the world wide web.
Now, you may be wondering "Why is an online spirits retailer trying to sell me a cardboard VR headset?" Well, we love technology and how it offers new ways to experience the world. We've been visiting distilleries and filming tours using some fancy VR kit, so when you watch the video through the cardboard VR headset, you can have a look around the distillery as if you were in the room with us! We'll be bringing our VR kit to Fèis Ìle 2018 to take videos of the Islay distilleries, so keep your eyes on the blog for updates!
Please note: The instructions for assembling the cardboard VR headset are in German, so we've translated them for you (just in case your German skills aren't quite up to scratch)...
1) Fold the sides back
2) Press the lenses into the box
3) Turn 180-degrees
4) Fold the wings on the side until they connect.
5) Open the app on your smartphone and place inside.
6) Now you can enjoy the virtual reality experience!
Please do not eat the cardboard VR headset.
