Macallan 1988 Bottling Note
A single cask from Macallan. This was distilled on the 25th May 1988 and matured for 21 years in hogshead number 4947 before bottling on the 19th January 2010. A release of 292 bottles, at cask strength.
A True Speyside no Sherry
Nose: Sweet leather? Touch of field grass
Palate: Caramel, slight bitterness, grassy and spreading spice
Finish: Spice continues, drying, and warmth, a rare solid bitter/sweet combination that works well
Impression: Walking in a grassy field with a warm breeze and hip flask, smoke in the distance
